EARLY HEAD START

     Toddler Classes

 

Early Head Start helps children succeed in their subsequent school experiences.

 

Our Early Head Start Toddler Classes offer services for 24 children, 8 in Ephrata and 16 in Moses Lake. Children received a shortened day of preschool two days per week, and parents and children receive two home visits per month.

During regular 1-1/2 hour home visits parents learn about and practice offering educational activities to their children guided by our Teacher/Family Educators.

 

This is an opportunity for parents to learn things they can do with their child to develop their thinking, motor and social skills.

 

Family Services Early Head Start Toddler Classes offer:

• A preschool classroom for 32 children two days a week to help children get ready for Head Start or another preschool setting. 

• Developmental screenings and assessments to ensure children are reaching proper milestones.  

• ​A developmentally appropriate curriculum that includes outdoor time, art, circle time, sensory play and literacy activities. 

• A nutritious breakfast and lunch.

• Classes for educating parents about their child's development.
