FSGC welcomes the opportunity to seek, support and recruit children with special needs.

FSGC strives for at least ten percent of our enrollment to be children with disabilities.

Income eligible children with suspected or diagnosed disabilities are given high priority for enrollment.

We also welcome referrals for children with existing Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) or Individual Education Plans (IEP) regardless of income.

All children in Head Start receive developmental screening. Parents are partners in the process of screening their own child.

Early intervention is a priority and referrals are made with parental approval to in-house services and community resources. Community resources include school district special services and medical providers.

Parents and teachers develop learning plans for each child to support their individual education needs. Teachers and parents collaborate to identify and use the best approaches for helping our special needs children learn.
